Peter LaBerge, founder of The Adroit Journal & Ellipsis Writing and recipient of a Pushcart Prize for Poetry, has been a Scholastic National Medalist Writing Educator for the past seven years and a Scholastic Regional Adjudicator for the past six years. Numerous students of his have been recognized through the National YoungArts Foundation, the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the National Student Poets Program, the Foyle Young Poet of the Year Awards, Bennington College, Princeton University, Kenyon College, the U.S. Presidential Scholar Program, TASP, and the Davidson Fellows Program. They’ve been featured at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, and by BBC News, The Boston Globe, Teen Vogue, and The Wall Street Journal.

During weekly or biweekly 1-hour Google Hangouts or Zoom sessions, you will receive detailed, personalized feedback on specific poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction, as well as on general writing habits and ambitions. You will embark on a customized path of assignments, readings, and prompts toward lasting growth.

You may also solicit advice on specific or general publication, award, or editorial pursuits during sessions. This may include: identifying suitable publications, preparing submissions, organizing high school writing contest submissions, and more.

Congratulations to Ellipsis Writing’s Scholastic National Medalists!

We’re thrilled to celebrate the news that every full-time Ellipsis Writing student who submitted to the Scholastic Awards received at least one Gold Key for Writing, and more than 80% of these students have received at least one National Medal for Writing! Additional awards include 2020 American Voices Awards (Best in Region) and 2020 Best in Grade Awards. From Best Teen Writing 2020 consideration to potential National Student Poet consideration, we look forward to seeing what’s next for this talented and ambitious group of writers.
