As the founding editor, I oversee all strategic and tactical operations—including, but not limited to, editorial, creative, and organizational. The journal has a sub-1% acceptance rate, has received more than 100,000 submissions of writing and art, and has been featured in The New York Times, Best American Poetry, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Pushcart Prizes: Best of the Small Presses, Teen Vogue, and NPR, among others. UPenn Dept. of Admissions, Writing Recruitment Assistant. Aug. 2014 - Present.

UPenn brings the best young writers in the world together on one campus. Within two years, I helped expand annual contact with prospective recruits from 80/yr to 500+/yr. I remain a remote member of UPenn’s Writing Recruitment Team; I’m always on the lookout for tomorrow’s game-changing writers, and I’m committed to advocating for them once I’ve found them.

Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program, Founder & Co-Director. Jun. 2013 - Aug. 2020.

Now in its tenth year, the Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program is an entirely online program that pairs experienced writers with high school and secondary students (students in grades 9-12) interested in learning more about the creative writing processes of drafting, redrafting and editing. The 2022 program catered to the genres of poetry, literary fiction, and creative nonfiction. The mentorship program retains a 65% matriculation rate to Ivy League schools, Stanford, Oxbridge, and UChicago. For more, click here.
